The book does not contest the fact that Milton Friedman wanted a smaller government and a freer population. However, this is such a thing as too much freedom - it's called anarchy. Without a moderately sized government to protect human beings from one another, they will step on each other in order to claim the best for themselves.

And if you want a good example of a socialist (not Communist) society, look at Europe. Germans, for instance, have housing listed as a right, not a privilege.

Capitalism is one facet of complex social processes. It is not an ideology. Every society has some monopolies and some areas where cooperative action is more efficient. Only the brainwashed seem to think it is a good idea to enforce one type of economic behavior. These same people feel it is clever to elect public office holders who refuse to perform their duties and failing that, elect office holders who cannot perform them. It's time to recognize the bankruptcy of bumpersticker idealogues.

Naomi Klein, I believe intentional misrepresented Friedman's position. She can't be that naive or ignorant or unable to comprehend his writings to arrive at the conclusion she did. The question is, what is her motive for misrepresenting Milton Friedman?

thank you. though i do believe you have missed the message of the film, you still respected the right to freedom of expression. i do urge to read the book The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein. it is a bit sensationalist at times, but with personal research alongside anyone can realise the truth of what Klein is trying to say.
