Let's face it: what you say is nice and true - But: These are all old Car's, the Vid is also old, and they aren't "very interesting old car's" (sure, for vw-fans is the mk2 gti a great car, and for the opel-fans is the kadett a cool car -i guess, maybe i'm wrong at the opel-fans), So i'm sry to say that, but straight answering to your comment: Wayne?

An Opel Kadett GSI is faster than a Golf GTI, let's say both with a 2-litre 8v engine or both with 2-litre 16v.

The Opel C20 engines rev high easier and faster than VW 2-litre engines.

But most of all, the Kadett hatchback has way better aerodynamics than the Golf 2.

However, both will be beaten in sprints and on the circuit by the Ford Escort 1.6 RS Turbo with 130 HP. Yes, also the Kadett and Golf 16v !!
