@divagirl408 No, Parliament hated Albert and did everything they could to limit his role. Victoria originally wanted him to be King-Consort, but Melbourne quickly dismissed that as Parliament would never agree. They refused to even allow him a peerage and cut his pension to half of what the other consorts to English monarchs previously got. It was all the result of Victoria's bitter partisan politics and also the selfish and wasteful actions of previous Coburgs'.
