these cars are difficult to sell with original parts.
You shoul've replaced it with a later OE unit.

the radio (stock) in my 92 600sel won't really select stations or it won't pick up any stations at all. any suggestions as to what i could be?

You could just rebuild the amp for much less or even get a used one and install a wire harness adaptor to accept the new headunit

instead of the switch you could have used a relay that switch's ground to parking break when the radio is kicked on so you dont have to manually do it.
