Heel Spur Surgery is a permanent treatment for chronic plantar heel pain and plantar fasciitis. This patient had multiple injections, rest, shoe gear changes, and other conservative attempts to stop the intense morning pain she had when she first stepped down out of bed. The procedure was performed at an out-patient facility in Houston Texas, the patient is recovered and walking pain free.

  • No change in running, arch height, etc. the object is to return the plantar surface of the heel bone to a normal shape (without the spur) and prevent the reattachment of the ligament to this area - the primary reason for pain in the morning.

And yes, I always suggest that my patients return to their orthotics after the surgery to maximize results.
