http://www.primeline-america.com/science/ Great science project - 25,000 Volts flying through the air in a continous arc. Safe-Low Current. Easily made from Radioshack parts and from the auto parts store.

  • No, this is not a Tesla coil. It's just a car ignition coil - an induction coil.

A Tesla coil is designed to be carefully tuned to the coils resonant frequency, this is not, and hence is effectively just a step-up transformer. You could do this with many old transfomers. A Tesla coil it is not!

  • Its not a tesla coil it is an ignition coil

  • @1950dodgefan This transformer does not have enough current(ampere's) to weld.

  • @sparkfishes The motor turning around in the middle is the rotary spark gap, there is also a capacitor hooked to one end of the coil (which a car part store calls a condensor or external resistor)

  • @godricsword2 in a car ignition coil, the two coils are joined together inside the canister and sealed under oil.

  • @cosmos836 to build the 'tesla coil' spark project just look up 'ignition coil drivers' - its the same thing this guy does.

  • @Tspider4 Tesla invented the car ignition coil!

  • Ha put a welfing rod in their as an electrode and u got your self a welder

  • me podrias proporcionar el diagrama del circuitooo

  • @XravenorX In fact, I don't think there even is an oscillator circuit, but a simple DC-motor is placed in series: especially judging by the noise in the video, I don;t think there is a fancy circuit behind it...

  • really the pourpose of a tesla coil is to wirelessly transmit electricity in a electromagnetic field. the electrical arcs are only a side effect of this.

  • hey for all the comments i read about whether or not you will get hurt by that arc of lightning, the answer is yes because the electricity is only vibrating at a normal cycle one thing that gives this hint is that the arc is completely jumping the gap on a regular set up. if it caused the electricity to cycle at a normal state for a tesla coil, then the electricity would only go skin deep and pass through you harmlessly like how tesla use to do with his coils and WITHOUT A FULL-BODY CHAIN MAIL.
