In this film, Father Martin explores the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous and points to the importance of helping others. Being of maximum service to others is an integral aim of the Twelve Steps. Father Martin reminds viewers that some of the most important twelve step work recovering individuals do is at home. This film is very insightful and is appropriate for the individual in treatment or the person in recovery that wants to grow in usefulness to others.

Father Martin is one of the worlds most knowledgeable and effective educators on the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction.

  • Some ppl use the word God in AA rooms as Good orderly Direction (i think of that is doing the 12 steps w/a sponsor .)some don't hold hands or take part in the lords prayer. no 1 forces you 2.but if u are willing and honest (which u seem to b). you will find Family and friends in AA. and once u have changed by doing the steps(program of AA With a sponsor). I have witnessed many get a closer bond with all around them,It's a journey what u have to lose? Trying to get yourself well will get u well..

  • I'm an agnostic/atheist (i.e. i don't know nor care if there is a god) but i will say that this guy has made me really want to change... prayer is as useful to me as fairy dust but i really want to quit drinking and he has provided something that my friends and family could/would not provide and thats support

  • i had to watch this guy in bridges of hope all the time

ugg was it hard to stay awake

  • Thank God for Father Martin. This one really makes sense.

  • If Bill Wilson wanted to breathe, why did he kill himself by smoking heavily until he contraced emphysema?

  • did want he told me, the voices were telling me to do.

    12. I then tried to proselytize this insane religion, saying that the law is wrong and that it is spiritual, and not religious, even though I could not see any meaningful distinction between the two, nor do the courts in the United States.

  • ty fr hugs

  • God bless, father Martin, Aum
