In 1967, Hanna-Barbera produced a Fantastic Four cartoon that adapted many stories directly from the original Lee & Kirby run. Great show that deserves to be on DVD.

  • And I am telling you that you are remembering something that never happened. You are confusing why they replaced Johnny Storm with HERBIE the robot. The urban legend is that Johnny Storm was replaced with HERBIEbecause some kids tried to set themselves on fire. Not. true. Never happened. They replaced Storm with HERBIE because of a licensing issue. Perhaps you should do a little research before making posts. That way you don't keep these urban legends alive.

  • @thespiswolf Yep here is what they said (A long-lasting rumor stated that this change was made by the TV network (NBC) because executives did not want young viewers to imitate the Human Torch by setting themselves on fire. This rumor proved to be untrue, as the 1978 television rights to use that character were tied up by a proposed television pilot movie in development by Universal Studios (now a sister company to NBC) that ended up never being produced.)

  • HAHA! I love those old cartoons but the new movie was really fun too. Chris Evans was really great as the Human Torch too. I just saw him in the new film “Puncture” and it blew me away!

  • why are they so tiny?

  • All about the 90s FF intro!!!

  • Still the better of all versions, the 1967 ABC/Hanna-Barbera cartoon series of

"FANTASTIC FOUR" has its own style! i'd be curious as to whom may actually

own the rights to this version,,as i would assume that it was part of Hanna-

Barbera's library, the rights would likely be Marvel-which would still not be of

any suprise to me,if Warner Bros.Entertainment owns this series,,or maybe

the Disney/Buena Vista company, which currently owns Marvel-so who ever

controls the rights,,its still a great show!

  • If I'm not mistaken there's a version of this theme where they say the names of the characters. Pretty much all the FF cartoons have had their own unique brand of awesome right up to the present day, except I can't really watch the HERBIE ones, though Superhero Squad has managed to make HERBIE pretty amusing. But it would have been cool if they had to replace a member to use Crystal or somebody like that.
