Nagasawa demonstration of brazing technique using a homemade stand. Most of the important parts of his frame production take place on tools or jigs he made himself.
i think that if you knew how to do it better you may be working for a prestigious frame company such as Nagasawa. This guy obviously knows exactly what hes doing, you're two cents are completely irrelevant.
Heating to a cherry red is normal for brass or bronze brazing. You can't be too much hotter than that for very long without getting some inclusion or you'll over heat the lug and you'll get a crack. Providing its a cast lug, if its a pressed lug it can take the same punisment as the tube. I'm guessing its a pressed lug other wise the fit would be more precise.
this is about as good as it gets

When someone is using a hammer and pliers to braze a custom frame together its a big red flag. Open your eyes fool.

@mchimonas um yeah, he appears to be re-shaping the lug or annealing it or something. That is way too much heat to be brass brazing.

@ukdodger I think he is brazing with brass and not silver so he would have to heat the steel until it glows. For silver, he wouldn't have to.

I dont get it. I was always taught that heating the cromo to glowing was a serious no no.
