Not the original. Terrible in comparison to the 1986 movie.

The problem I had with the new version, besides the obviously bad and totally bizarre ending, is the fact that I found Cecil to be way more attractive than George and in the end, I actually wanted Lucy to end up with Cecil because this new George was just so bad. I miss Julian Sands.

the "room with a view" movie i watch was way, way better than this one it is not apealing to me at all. where Maggie Smith and other awesome actors. it it classy and romantic.

The 1986 movie had such a charm and to be honest I don't think this one will ever compare not to mention the original one had Helena Bonham Carter in it xD <3

I don't agree. The MI version is a classic, and far be it from me to say anything against a classic of any sort - BUT in that version the director/producer ignored SO MANY important themes of the novel: man's opinion of women's intellect, the good/bad of religion, the change in society, mr.B's homosexualism.
AND the relationship btw Cecil and Lucy in the original version was downplayed, with no background story. This version is realistic, and as a fan of the book not actors, I liked it better.

wow, i actually thought this was a spoof that someone made up....... way to do the original no justice, and ruin the whole point of a remake.
