I am pleased to announce the opening of this years nominations for Dreamfit Foundations Dreamcatcher Program. This is a great chance to win one of three custom engineering solutions for a representative of your organisation and participate in this unique program making a difference across the WA community.

The Dreamfit Foundation operates annual programs collaborating with industry, academia, government and the community with the common goal of fulfilling dreams and overcoming the challenges and frustrations of people with disabilities.

In 2009, Dreamfit ran its first Dreamcatcher engineering competition with over 250 university students competing against each other to design the best solution for 9 year old Perth Boy, Josiah Kappert, whose Dream was to ride a bicycle. This wasnt possible with a conventional bicycle as Josiah was born with no arms. Through the competition, Josiah was able to test not one, but six custom built bicycles, from which he chose his favourite to keep.

The competition was an incredible success for all involved, so in 2010 we are stepping it up a notch and running three separate competitions. This means we need to find three lucky recipients to receive a number of custom engineered solution to help fulfil their Dream.

The reason I am contacting you is that for each of the competitions we would like to partner with a not-for-profit organisation. By being a partner, your organisation will be able to join in the excitement of these projects, support your clients and share the benefits including exposure for your organisation throughout the community. Dreamfits marketing, significant media coverage and calendar of events include the highlight annual event celebrating the International Day of People with a Disability on the 3rd of December 2010 where the project winners are announced.

To be considered for this partnership, all you have to do is put forward a nomination for up to two potential projects including a compelling story of how you believe an engineering solution could fulfil a Dream for a representative of your organisation. The nominated person may have a specific individual need, or they may represent the needs of many.

The deadline to submit your nomination(s) is 3pm Friday, 5th February 2010. After this date the project team will evaluate all nominations and select the three lucky winners.

I have attached a short promotional video, the Competition Guidelines and the Nomination Form to this email. Please feel free to distribute it within your organisation or to other organisations you feel may be interested.

If you have any further questions that arent covered in the Competition Guidelines, please feel free to contact Darren Lomman, CEO Dreamfit Foundation, directly via 0413 866 221 or darren@dreamfit.com.au
