also it would have been nice to say something about Ms. Peplau. Fact she was a first generation Polish immigrant wrote and published a wonderful book on the importance of relationships devt in the provision of emotional care. Spent more than 70 years in the field as a nurse a researcher and educator.

ladies I hate to say it but you suck: first of all Paplau identified 6 sub roles 1) the stranger - in the beginning nurse and client are strangers 2) resource person- the nurse is the sourse of info related to healhtcare for the client 3) the teacher - nurse id's pt learning needs provides info to client and family 4) leader client is an active participant in his/her care 5) the surrogate - nurse as mother 6) the counselor - nurse helps client adapt to new situation
