In Part 6, participants were introduced to advanced techniques for supporting the comparability and fairness of DDMs. These techniques were introduced for those districts ready to explore more sophisticated approaches to support future planning, but may not be timely or necessary for all districts. In the webinar, participants learned how to use correlation to investigate whether all students have an equal chance to demonstrate growth. Participants also heard from Jamie LaBillois, Executive Director of Instruction in Norwell, about how he is using standardization as an approach to compare scores on different measures. The content of this webinar is also covered in the Implementation Brief on Investigating Fairness.
