This is your ClevverTV New Music Update. Today it's all about a Brooklyn-based artist named Krista-she's got big beats, amazing vocals, and street-savvy raps----we're breaking it all down right now.

Hey guys-I'm your host Joslyn Davis with more new music. J Records recording artist, Krista, is bringing some life to the music world with her new track "Temporary Insanity," which is from her debut album "Taking Back Brooklyn." The 21 year old singer-songwriter says her music is based on layers between struggle and expression, as well as her unique cultural background.

After watching her new music video, it's obvious that her creations don't really fit into any one category. She's got the enchanting vocals of someone like Sarah McLachlan, coupled with a fierce rapping capability and through-the-roof- confidence. All that said, it's not surprising that Krista notes some of her inspirations as early female MC's like Queen Latifa and Salt n Pepa. Music insiders compare her sound to other groups that are bridging the gap between genres-bands like Evanescence and Linkin Park.
