kumaon bagpipes wedding band dance on highway

bicycling in the kumaon himalayas... on our way from almora to berinag, we run into this wedding band playing bagpipes!! it is late may - the month of Jyeth, when weddings are propitious (no weddings the last two months) - and we are invited to join the fun. we parked our bicycles and joined the dance, wearing cycling helmets, even as buses and motorcycles trundled past on the almora-sheraghat highway. they (the groom's party) even invited us to join the barat for lunch - but we declined because we had miles to go before we dined...
