  • Sorry what does RIAT - mean or stand for ?

  • Royal International Air Tattoo, an air show that is currently held yearly in July at Fairford in Gloustershire. Next one 18th July 2009 so not long to wait!! :-)

  • RIAT Coordinator's have just emailed me well like 10 minuets ago saying this year they are makeing it up for us because of last year being terenchal rain, so this year is going to be extra special so if i was you i would go.

  • Don't worry, I booked my spot at the campsite back in February. Come rain or shine i'll be there!!!

  • Back when we had an air force and enough pilots...

One flypast I am sorry I missed.

  • @BeLLiNi1303 Its not the Typhoons id be worried about, the GR4s and the Nimrod would be enough to break an eardrum!

  • o this must be extremely expensive

  • you must be deaf! a formation flight of 9 eurofighters,it only takes 1 to shake the floor so i would love to see what 9 would do to the ground lol

  • why so jumpy

  • @JoeVetteman No problem mate, glad to help. And a personal salute to you also, anyone who serves in the forces deserves to be recognised. Well done mate.

  • @AHickenUK Thank you my friend....really cool to see airshows in person huh? No matter where we may be,the thrill of seeing such beautiful airplanes doing a demo never ceases to amaze us all....I've been to a few myself......thank you for taking the time to answer my question.......I'm an USAF veteran....worked on C-5's most of the time, but I also helped fix F-15's,16's,and one B-1 at Dyess AFB....I even got a ride in a two-seat A-10!!!! What a neat treat that was!!!!

  • @JoeVetteman It's not used widely, more of a military term I believe for a large event, perhaps showcase which is public? They also have the Royal Military Tattoo

  • What do the British people mean by "tattoo"? Would anyone clarify for me?

  • Nosteraates how long did you spend on that world class joke?
