I am SO glad that you are talking about this topic. People have such sad misconceptions about the purpose of modesty. I think choosing to be modest is a demonstration of NOT being ashamed of one's body, but having respect for one's body. Yes, I am a very committed Christian, but even if I wasn't, I don't understand what the point would be to wearing immodest clothing or showing off everything. It seems the people that do dress immodestly only do so because they are insecure and need affirmation.
agreed. im tired of women only feeling confident because of the way they look in a bikini. I myself do wear one but I make sure it covers my lady parts, I got it cause I thought it was cute and flowery and so me and not cause I feel the need to show off my body to men. I think people realllly did miss the point. and I am sooo sorry about the rude comments you received from people assuming u are ashamed of ur body just cause u dont wear a bikini. they obviously seem to feel the need for attention
stinks that we fought for the vote etc. so we women wouldn't be thought of as just bodies...then we got more freedoms, the vote, the workplace, etc...and now since we have all these freedoms we have gone and reverted back and made ourselves just bodies in the name of freedom.. I dunno if that makes sense but I know what I'm trying to say lol! :)
I would have to totally agree with this video! Do you get more respect dressing up nicely or half naked? How people dress does define them weather they want to believe that or not! Of coarse we like to show off a little but some people go a little to far.
@xandmakeupx I also think it would help you to look up Paul Washer's sermons on youtube. I tried to post a link here but it wouldn't let me. Good ones of his are his sermons about the virtuous woman, the purpose of marriage, and also (families, dating, and relationships)<< That's one video the last one I listed.
@xandmakeupx Well part of dressing modestly is to protect our brothers from sinning. God wants us to have minds that are pure, holy and honoring to him. God only wants a man to think of his wife in that way. That is why we must dress modestly in front of men. If we give it all away to men who aren't our husband, when we get to the marriage bed our purity is somewhat lost. This is not honoring to God and goes against his plans for us. Why give to men what should only be given to your husband?
i see nothing wrong with "immodest" clothing. i like to wear reavealing things and my boyfriend likes it like wise. i dont know but i really dont understand why having sex with someone you love is wrong if you arent married or showing a little extra skin is sooooo terrible that im going to hell, and thats even saying there is someone who controls that

It's really sad how many commenters blew this out of proportion in the last one.
