During the offseason the Reds signed Louisville native Chris Burke to a Minor League deal. Burke, a former first-round pick by the Astros in the 2001 First-Year Player Draft, played in 32 games for the Padres in '09 -- batting .207. In six seasons in the Majors, Burke is a .239 hitter with experience mostly at second base and left field. He spoke with the local media about the upcoming 2010 season.
