u confuse me so i buy a ethernet cable right? then i hook it up on 1 end to ps2 right?then i hook the other end into the phone jack right?

Alright you have your phone cable, one end goes into the phonejack, the other goes into your modem. You have your ethernet cable which goes into the back of your PS2 and into your modem. then you have your power cable which goes into the wall and into the back of your modem, Easy enoughg right? **Ethernet cable goes into your PS2, not your phone cable**

yeah it hooks up to a phone jack and then you got your ethernet cable and the power cable. ethernet hooks into modem and in the back of your PS2.
