The men that brought our beloved Hess's to the Lehigh Valley were proud JEWISH Americans all. Like every Jewish American, they wanted ONLY THE BEST for their community, their city and their COUNTRY. With all the hatred that is being thrown around these days against Jewish folks, especially on Youtube, I thought i would take the time to remind everyone of this very little, unknown fact.

It was such a sad sight in 1993 when they had the store closeing sign up at our local Hess's.

I miss the old days of Hamilton Street. Hess's, Leh's, the Liberty Bell church, the clock shop...back when you could walk downtown and do a day of shopping and sightseeing and not worry about crime & parking. Im only 27, but I remember the great department stores, the trolley, the covered walkways. Im glad I got to see some of it.

I worked at Hess's. In the Oasis, the Deli...and ahhh yes...the Patio! I miss getting employee meals there. You could have ANYTHING except Surf and Turf! I loved it!

I really enjoy this video. Workers really took pride in their job.

I used to get to go into the toy department there when I was a kid! I remeber it so well, my mom worked at the Hilton down the street when it was first built in 80, and I just remember how they had the armour and the flowers and the royal feeling u had there! When it went out, so did the heart of Allentown! That's why there's such crime and turmoil there now, but that's just my opinion. :(
i sure do miss Hess's.

I remember my mom used to take me to the Patio every Black Friday and we would get the strawberry pie after waiting in line for almost an hour. I miss Hess' and I wish that it was around now that I am older.
