BONG PEÑERA: IN LOVE AGAIN (Words & Music by Bong Peñera © 2011, 2005)

Here it is: Bong's gift, he says, to all his friends who have loved and followed his music, a preview of his upcoming CD of new and original songs. This study demo is a brand new work; recorded May 1, 2011, a special time according to Bong, for it is the month of flowers, of spring, a month dedicated to our Lady. Although the melody was composed some time earlier, the words came right to Bong on last Easter Sunday. "I was filled with so much joy I felt like being in love again!" And thus the title and the words.

As it is a study demo CD you will not find the drum or bass tracks or other instrumental or vocal tracks present. It is just the song in its pure stage and Bong's singing of it, and his piano that weaves the incredible magic. At the mixing studio I was told that the two engineers kept playing the song, literally, over and over again. And so did I, while making this video for this unbelievably beautiful track. Everything about it is beautiful: the melody, the rhythm, the piano, and most particularly the voice that was recorded in one take. It is reminiscent of how he did his now popular version of Adoro Te Devote. In both cases, one can, by just hearing it or listening to it, see some divine sparks flowing.

The upcoming CD is, for now, entitled "Celestial Sambas", a title Bong picked as he feels most if not all the new works contained in it, "came from above" says Bong. "I have always been struck by our Lord's words, 'Freely you receive, freely give'. I believe that God touches hearts through music and musicians are His instruments. As it gave me so much joy and peace writing and recording this song, I hope it will give the same joy, smiles and peace to all who listen to it and sing it, especially that they find they are singing to the Most Beautiful Love of all!"
