@sauquoit13456 How didi this song do in Philadelphia? I sure remember this tremendous soulful pop hit in the summer of 1966 and the final years of baseball at Connie Mack Stadium.

JUST MISSED!!! "Whispers (Gettin' Louder)" just missed making the Billboard's Hot Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 12 weeks in the Hot Top 100 in 1966. This record was Mr. Wilson's 38th to make the charts!!!

I didn't know Barbara Acklin wrote WHISPERS! Wowwwww! I used to go to The REGAL THEATER in Chicago, IL and stay for hours watching ALL the fantastic Entertainers perform. Many of my friends are Songwriters & Entertainers! My client Earl Mills wrote the Book about my cousin Dorothy Dandridge which became the HBO Movie Introducing Dorothy Dandridge "starring" Halle Berry! EVERYONE is Invited to Stay in Touch with me!

@barbaraAcklinJr That's beautiful! I've been a Barbara Acklin fan since my young years, I'm 56 so I remember when she was at the top of the charts! I have the privilege of talking to Brenda Holloway (Every Little Bit Hurts) and just found out that she wrote You Made Me So Very Happy. Blood Sweat and Tears made it a hit but she released it earlier! I too love the "Net!!!

Imagine riding around town in a '58 Chevy with $2 dollars of gas in the tank (that was a lot back in those days) looking for a recreation center to play a game of b-ball then this song comes on the radio. You guessed it: Everybody was calling "Peaches". Man so many great songs and only two soul radio stations. What a shame.

Hello All, and especially to the ones that posted the song. My mom, Barbara Acklin wrote this song for Mr. Wilson but most dont recognize that she was a fabulous writer as well as singer/artist. So here's a little info for those who didnt know. I love the internet!

Thank you for this song. Jackie Wilson was before James Brown. He is how Motown got its start. He hasn't gotten the credit he deserves.
