In this series of videos gay activist Jim Burroway talks about attending Focus on the Family and Exodus International's "Love Won Out" conference which promotes "gay curing" or "ex-gay" ministries.

In this segment Jim discusses speaker Joseph Nicolosi's bizarre declaration "if you don't hug your sons, another man will" and the profound response from the audience it elicited. Following the speech Jim spoke the father of a gay son about what Nicolosi said, the father replied that he "hoped someday Jesus would forgive him."

  • You sillybuns!

    On one hand your anti-gay organizations rant about how gays mentally defective and represent less than 1% of the population, and on the other you blame us for everything from the divorce rate among heterosexuals to controlling the media.

    For such a tiny and "mentally defective" collection of misfits we certainly seem to have a lot of power! (Then again, history reveals that scapegoats often do.)

    Personally I blame leprechauns. They hide in trees and upset entire neighbourhoods.

  • No necessarily, we just take our cue from people like Coretta Scott King, wife of slayn Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On the topic she had this to say;

    "I believe all Americans who believe in freedom, tolerance and human rights have a responsibility to oppose bigotry and prejudice based on sexual orientation."

  • Parental bonding and the children's tempermant has much to do with the causation of gay or lesbian behavior in most cases, but it's not the only thing to consider. There are many straight people who had issues with their parents and proper bonding and didn't turn out gay or lesbian, but there are reasons for that too. Reasons having to do with tempermant, nonsexualization, and the replacement of their parent with healthy/loving father and mother figure roles
