i would want to ask first and foremost if it appeared to be moving of its own accord and not with any sort of water current. if thats the case then it could end up just being a rotting carcass caked in mud and its own degrading flesh..unless of course it was moving on its own...then it doesnt look like anything ive ever seen..and im familiar with most animals around here..ill take a shot and say its a rotten deer or dog carcass,for now. i may just take a trip up there and look for myself.

it looks like vertebrae, what im seeing.. not a tail.
and a hippopatamus ear. It looks like a croc and a hippo... well, created a new species. lol not sure I want to imagine that...
