Το Ήνορο στην εκδήλωση για τα 400 χρόνια απο την επανάσταση του Διουνύσιου του Σκυλοσόφου στο Ιτς Καλέ στα Ιωάννινα.
The greek polyphonic group, Inoro!
Inoro
The polyphonic group was formed in 2001 by a group of musicians, who were themselves looking for further knowledge and a deeper understanding of the polyphonic (with many voices) song, a traditional musical genre in Northern Greece still of great interest nowadays. The group has been continuously augmented by new musicians with an interest in this form of music. Today it has evolved into a highly active and complete polyphonic group performing a rich repertoire of songs from Epirus and also diverse interpretations of music from neighbouring countries (Albania, southern Italy, Serbia, Bulgaria), highlighting the cultural roots of each region.
Inoro has given concerts in many Greek cities, (Ioannina, Arta, Kozani, Igoumenitsa, Kastoria) and participated in international festivals in Greece (Athens) and Albania (Permet, Gyrokaster, Sarante, Bylis). Their recordings have received enthusiastic acclaim, leading to participation in radio and TV broadcasts, recordings, films and documentaries. Their first CD released in the summer of 2011 and contains 14 polyphonic songs from Epirus followed by musicological research.
Inoro holds as a principle the authenticity of the local music culture and performance. It aims to continue the preservation and spread of the polyphonic song of Epirus, both because of its artistic appeal and due to ethnomusicological interest, not only in the Balkan and East Mediterranean area, but also in the repertoire of global folk polyphony.
The members of the group are : Sofia Exarchou, Panayiotis Tellis, Fotini Kotsiafti, Dimitris Dristiliaris, Panayiota Bisela, Kosmas Kaftanis, Dimitris Ratsikas, Vasilis Euthimiou, Lenia Kouti, Kostas Lolis.
