Hilariously, in the bible the bit that is against gay marriage is under Kosher law and not Christian law, so any Christian who is opposed to gay marriage is a fucking idiot.
Also both Rudd and Gillard have stated their ultimate reason for not approving as "The definition of marriage is between a man and a woman", which is it's own kind of fucked up, I don't see them defending the honourable occupation of fudge-packing's definition with legislation.

Non religious straight couples shouldn't get married as much as gay couples shouldn't, make up your own ceromony and stop trying to steal ours (christain). You are married under god, if you want to get married under bob the builder then pressure your MP to introduce a bill called "bob the builder bill" that gives the same rights as marriage but isn't marriage. Same as you non christain straight people go get bob the buildered because marriage isn't for you.

These days marriage is not sacred, look at how many people get divorced, completely forgetting their commitments to each other. Many STRAIGHT couples getting married due to premarital pregnancy. That, in my opinion is NOT sacred. I'm not much of a religious person, but I do believe in the 10 commandments, there is nothing about loving, or marrying someone of the same sex being a sin. In fact it promotes love, in general, not based on gender, race, sexual orientation. just love!
