Revolutionary War Reenactors

Why do people volunteer to dress up in colonial attire and reenact events that happened more than 200 years ago?

Find out in my short documentary.

  • Very nice vidio, but seriosly, How do the reinactors get all of the Revolutionary weapons?!?!

  • A lot of them are actually old antiques and replicas. Some are created by blacksmiths today.

  • Thanks for the video, it's great tribute to reenactors. However, reenactors don't actually give up modern luxeries, it's only a weekend hobby.

  • Thank you for your comment.

But I am aware of that. But they do give up those materials during the reenactments. That's what I meant, sorry.

  • Nice video. I love this era of American History. I write historical fiction novels. My book "Calico" takes place during that period of history.

  • Hi, I'm guessing a majority of you are US citizens. I was wondering, when I go to America, do you recruit people to be British Officers in re-enactments. Because I am currently serving in the Royal Grenadier Guards as a 1st Lieutenant (An Officer) and would like to be a Redcoat re-enactor is this possible?

  • where are the french ,spainsh and dutch lol they did help alot aswell

  • great video

  • Well done,I thinking hard about Revolutionary Reenacting, already had a musket 1777 Charleville, only problem is I live in Kentucky not much of that war reenacted here.

  • I reenact because it is the most fun you can have with breeches on!

A bad day reenacting is better that the best day doing nearly anything else. You have to experience it to know.

Reenactors are the most giving, caring, and aware group of people I have ever met. There are rubes, dunderheads and scoundrels in reenacting, but to a man (and woman) they appreciate their fellow human beings and know the blessings of liberty.

  • because reenacting is as fun as heck, ohh, big deal, we give up cell phones and tv for one weekend, i dont miss it for a second when im reenacting

  • I live in the midwest i'd like to get into revoutionary war reenacting group please let me know if you know of a group thanks

  • I never knew there were American Revolutionary renactor. I though it was only a civil war thing.

  • Also, and I know that the east coast has a LOT of the re-enactments and units... but also be aware that there are groups out here n the Midwest (Northwest Territory Alliance) and out West as well... that keep the Revolution alive for those of us today. Great Video and I hope a lot of people take your message to heart! :-)
