@smiga70 gives you a more streamlined profile to get into the tigher entrances better than having a bulky backmount, and it also is more protective of the tank and valves because they're tight to your body as opposed to being exposed.

@tiggerrm21 You are absolutely right but notice that it was when we first start get involved with sidemount.
Now we are on ΜΟΚΕΝ sidemount harness
