This story truly made Morgoth into quite possibly the most sinister villain in the literary world. As I read The Silmarillion, it was clear to me that Morgoth was indeed a powerful force to be reckoned with. But, The Children of Hurin is what really illustrated Morgoth's malice. All because the valiant Hurin refused to reveal Turgon's whereabouts, He Who Arose in Might cursed Hurin's descendants. Turin lost everything; he really meant well, but in the end, his own sword was glad to slay him.
