i got my first rebel flag there

Manning is right about not finding Southern history and flags anymore in chain stores. At one time you could find both union and Southern play military items, ie hats, flags, guns, etc. Even in our Southern states, we are finding an intentional effort to erase Southern history. Of course, it goes along with the pussification of our society. I will make an effort to get to the store next time I am anywhere close by.

I miss this store. I use to go in there looking at they had and Mr. Manning was very pleasent to talk to. I had some very enliting conversations with him. Weht back there with my dad and I was sadden to see the store is closed. Does anyone know what happen? Did the reccesion catch up with him? Is there another store anywhere like this around Columbia SC/

I was in Columbia this summer, and I was driving through Caycee (I think) as I was heading toward the airport. Sorry I missed this place or I would have popped in and bought a few items.

@southernman517, The store had to shut down. The recession was just too much. I'm not from Columbia so I really don't know, unfortunately.

I have been in this shop a few times now. I found Tim to very engaging, nice and sincere. I hope this shop stays open and operating for quite some time. And this is coming from a black man. That knows the difference of racism... and someone that believes and knows there history.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
You might as well just make the symbol a black man being lynched...

Obviously you would prefer to remain ignorant than educate yourself. There are many Black pro-South activists like HK Edgerton. The history you have been taught is likely not the truth. If you were equal in the 'offense' you take over racism in the past then you should hate the US flag - after all, under the Stars and Stripes the slave trade prospered and slavery existed for a hundred years under it. Read some history and don't just have a knee-jerk reaction to a symbol which millions love.
