@b3n1t0th3b055 You mean P-07 Duty, and the decocker or safety can't be installed at the same time. You can easily change them out depending on which you prefer.

I have a P01 and it's my favorite gun. CZ's have the best ergonomics.

1. 9mm actually holds 19+1 even though it says 18+1 on the CZ website.
2. You have the SP-01 Tactical, not the plain SP-01.
3. That decocker on the SP-01 Tactical is not also a safety. Double action trigger pull is the safety. The one with a safety is the SP-01, the one with both safety and decocker is the P-01 Duty.

@yir1988 CZ SP-01 Shadow is definatley one of CZ's best handguns. Here in Israel people love it for practical shooting competitions. It's ergonomic and accurate, very convinient for instinctive shooting (self defense) and for fun in the range. Quite a winner.
As for me, I bought the CZ SP-07 Duty because I rather carry a polymer frame gun. I like it a lot better for everyday carrying. Another reason that made me choose the Duty is its softand smooth triger.
Try them both before purchase.

I'm sorry I just saw the second question.
on the SP-07 duty you can switch the decoking mechanism with a safety - it's one of the gun's features.
the SP-01's design does not include such an option.

@masonrudyg forget about what everyone say and check for the formal specs. on CZ's website. thy're not heavier than other guns in the same category
-
@yir1988 that's exactly what you asked - why is there a space between the hammer and the slide when you decock it. there has to be a safety gap between the hammer and the back of the firing pin when there's a bullet in the chamber. you can't kick the slide's ass and expect nothing but the firing pin's safety to help you. see it in every CZ, Beretta, S&W, Sig, Jericho, Bull, Colt, Para
the striker is the firing pin. maybe in the US you refer only to a hammerless gun's firing pin as a "striker".
-
the de-cocker is not a safety too. its one or the other. thats how CZ sells them.

about the CZ Duty (CZ 75 P-07):
1) the mag release can be easily switched to the other side, so left handed shooters can use it comfortably.
2) the gun in the video doesn't have a safety. that's one of the special things about the Duty - you can switch the decocker with a safety mechanism in no-time. you can't have them both simultanusley
-
because if it will go all the way and hit the striker, eventually it will go BOOM.
every double action gun does that - the hammer goes to a special station so it wont hit the firing pin.
do they come in .45?

don't own any, but I've shot pretty much all the models..
They shoot well, are comfortable and durable
But a bit too heavy for me

i like CZs the grip feels absolutely perfect in my hand. one thing i wasnt too thrilled about was how little slide you have to grab onto when you're racking it... though that does decrease muzzle flip i have heard.

good point, I would agree with the small slide issue
