WET Labs at WET Design is where designers play with new technology, old physics experiments, and have some fun. In this classic Rubens Tube project, a tube is perforated with a line of holes, filled with gas, and lit on fire. Speakers are connected to either end of the tube and my violin is connected to the speakers with a quarter inch cable. The frequency of the violin notes create kinetic shapes in the fire. I've seen videos of this experiment with recorded music... it's a lot more fun when you're playing live music.
