  • 4:24 was just horrible... other than that this is a fantastic arrangement

  • @Tdubsish you should check out the other recording of this piece on my page...a much better rendition overall, with better sound quality--and best of all: nothing like what happened at 4:24

    : )

  • Hey!

This is very well done and an excellent arrangement.

I am also a Clarinet player in New Zealand and was wondering if I could get a copy of this arrangement from you please?

I am in the school Clarinet Ensemble and we've played very difficult pieces before but I think this piece might just top it.

It would be great to have this arrangement!

    Thanks very much!

  • @cammuth Claire De Lune is solo piano work so the performer has as much freedom with rubato as he/she wishes and other expressive tools that aren't as readily available in an ensemble because an ensemble needs to work together, it's not a solo. Of course it's going to be more mechanic Captain Oblivious. Also, these four musicians are not Debussy so their interpretation is different from Debussy's. A performer's job isn't to mimmic what other people do. It's to perform they're interpretation.

  • 3 people suck a life

  • I liked the first half... then some of the melodic material was removed for arpeggios... meh

ALSO it was scored too high.. then the register jumps were awkward and unmelodic due to range issues.

    I still enjoyed it though

  • @julliard06 not really. i didn't mean that. i meant that this marvelous piece, composed by Debussy as you said, it isn't played in debussy's style. i think it's so mechanic and that the execution it's so cold. I didn't like it, by no means, sorry

  • @cammuth You're right...it is an "arrangement" of Debussy!
