Karate Vs. MMA

For years MMA has been challenging Karate practitioners to fight. MMA has always dominated. But Sensei Jeff Neilson 10th dan master and 8 time world champion, has put out the challenge for any MMA fighter to come to his DoJo to fight.

Why do many people think karate is a worthless style of fighting? Its not. Its used to protect your life in dangerous situations and threats. So, if a MMA fighter was pointed by a person with a gun, whats he going to do? call the cops? No because he would've got shot already before he would've called. But if his girlfriend was a skilled goju ryu karate fighter then she would know how to defend her boyfriend from a threat by taking the gun away and karate dropped the shooter and knocked him out.

Traditional martial arts always beats mma.

When it comes to weaponry good martial artists can handle themselves even though they do not wish it. It is funny but a lot of MMA fighters are also based in kung fu, karate, and mauy thai. Not to mention the other countless fighting styles. So unless you just have a mindless brute they should respect other styles and not underestimate them.

This feels like more of an insult to MMA fighters. Don't compare us to street punks who think they are hard.

Karate VS MMA in street who would win? Hard to say, i mean i go to karate and when we fight we cant jump on eachother and wrestle someone down and knee him in the face, karate is more like "distance" fighting, use lot of legs and that. MMA would not be the dominated fighting sport if it hadnt wrestling, Karate learns more to "hold out". and teches many kicks, which are very helpfull and some cool blocks. MMA teaches those things but not as deep like in karate.

what most people dont realize is u cant use karate in mma because of rules like no eye gouging and groin strike. mma is therefore no good for self defense, bjj is. real self defense teaches u to strike the eyes joints throat and groin period...

@muscleHead922 ur an idiot you just pull the trigger and they are either wounded or dead karate just says that but 9.5 out of 10 times it doesnt work hand on hand fight mma wins and if you want to take a gun to the fight they both are probably dead :/ just sayin
