they reused it for 2004's election too.
That open was notable for its unintentionally funny live talent shots where Ed Bradley looked like he was about to be hit by a truck and Bob Schieffer is just scowling.

I'm going to assume this was an in house design by this time.I noticed the CBS News typeface for the campaigns for about a decade at that time was used. Theme is good, but the 1992 was the best in recent ages. In fact WCBS Newsradio 88 still uses these cuts for the election stingers to this day.
