I believe that I can help with a few suggestions but I would have to send you a private message as there isn't enough room in thse boxes. In short you would need to remove the coneand spiderfrom the frame.

Neat to hear those recordings, as I had not ran that entire wire through. You can hear the southern accent! I look forward to seeing the recapping of that Webster-Chicago. Hope you can find a good speaker. If you notice, you can see the on/off-potentiometer that I replaced as the original one's switch went bad.

What you need to do is use some sort of solvent to disolve the old glue holding the cone and the spider to the frame, after disconnecting those litz wire leads that go to the voice coil of course. That cone looks like it's in decent shape actually, as long as it hasn't been baked to death by tube heat it should be salvageable. The trouble with many modern replacment cones is that the have foam hinges around the outside edge so they don't really look right.
