I just don't understand why we don't hear more bluegrass these days. I'm not even from the region and I love this music like no other. For years now, whenever I hear songs like this, I often get a tear in my eye. What other music can do this to a mostly normal person? God bless all the bluegrassers of today and yesterday!

I believe they have that Lonesome Sound down ! :) W.C.

Ralph Stanley did this song with Bob Dylan on his Mountain Duet album, and Ralph's phrasing sounded great with Dylan. If the man can make Dylan sound harmonious, that shows what a great ear he has.

Wonderful interpretation of a Stanley Brothers classic. The original recording is one of a handful that got me hooked on bluegrass. Go back and listen to the Stanleys doing it, if you can. Haunting. Almost scary.
