While its the pecs, abs and other glamour muscles that receive much of the attention, young athletes may notice significant improvements in their performance if they add a strengthening program for their core muscles. In this Children's Channel video podcast, Lori Ross, MPT, a licensed physical therapist at the Akron Children's Hospital Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, discusses the use of pilates to enhance an athlete's stability and strength.
