Just becouse the other day i went to see 34067 Tangmere Slough station wicth has ticket barriers and they would let me on the platform and i dident get to see it! what are they like with leting enthueasts on the platform at Northampton?

I think you would be OK - they seem pretty friendly. If not, you can always go to the overflow car park just to the South of the station. Good viewing right next to the track.
