@leethehunter Check the throttle springs on the carb. If they arent installed properly it will cause the RPM to max out upon starting, and will lead to the issue you're describing.

ok i have this one and it stopped working, so i took it apart and then put i back together after taking apart the carburetor. and when i started again, it kept building rpm until it ran out of gas!!!! IT WAS SCARY!!!!!!! and i don't know what to do now. i'm 17 and go to high school and i'm still in my first year of auto tech!!!!

Hey i have the same one 5.0 HP 21" exept mine is newer looking ..plus the Exhaust isnt showing as much, probably a newer Model...Hey do you know how to properly start it...i cant find the manual and it hasnt been used since last year. Please help?
