Lydia, and art song by Gabriel Faure. This is for my audition cd for another university. I usually don't sing French, but it was a must for this audition. This was kind of last minute because I am very good with deadlines... :-)

(Sorry, I just think that even though this song is about a girl named Lydia, flowers seem to fit with it well)

  • Are you a Bass or a Baritone? I like the sound, however you sound a bit strained on the higher notes.

  • @Metalliceyes333 I am a tenor, if you look at some of my new videos you will see a far better approach to the higher notes. :) It was a total technique issue in this song that make it sound strained on the higher notes.

  • Your voice has potential, but when approaching song you have to remember that you're painting every word, every phrase and the overall atmosphere to the audience. Try taking each sentence (the whole sentence, not just when it stops for rests) and speaking it, then speaking its equivalent in your own English words, and see how you would naturally put it across. You don't want to sound like you're singing your shopping list. Good luck with auditions etc, there's definitely potential.
