@jsbjr86 Thank you for your comments! This song comes from the period of the American Revolution. The Mother in the story-line of this song represents Britain and the Daughter represents the United States to be or in other words,the 13 Colonies. Reference is inferred regarding the Boston Tea Party in this song as well. - Arnold
