Back after a major code overhaul.
The framerate sucks because the comp couldn't handle recording (but it can run the game at 60fps no problem).
It's being developed in XNA. The content in there right now is just a placeholder until the engine is ready. Hopefully by then I'll have some real characters made to go in there.
More videos coming soon to show off the gameplay in action.
Game Maker, isn`t it ?

No, just a simple fighting game engine made in C# with XNA.

Are these 3d models? I'm just asking because aren't they from mortal combat (2d)?
Thanks,

They are all 2D textures applied to rectangles. The game was completely 2D up until this version but I have been wanting to make it all 3D to allow 3D backgrounds and to avoid creating the parallax effect for floor surfaces that you see in UMK3.
This is the first video since I restarted the project from scratch (I am learning C# as I do it).
Watch for the next vid which will have the characters moving around, doing regular moves and special moves, and hitboxes should be active by then.
