A little note here (I own the LC-518D, almost identical): when switching between 'stick' and either TIG or Plasma, be sure to remove the unused attachment. The two are on the same bus bar inside the machine, you could have a live plasma tip for instance when you're welding stick, if you leave it connected to the machine.

The support is second to none, 5 year warranty, great retail price, as with any welding equipment get a higher rated unit for intended use so your not under powered. If a unit to be run is within its 100% duty cycle range and capable of max used materials there should be trouble free operation for years. Once I heard Bigger is Better, I think it is true.
