Before the rain - Episode 2

-1 Year Later-

Demi: Walking down the staircase "Brian, I'm going to the grocery store to buy some things, I'll be right back". Doesn't hear an answer, so she assumes that he doesn't mind.

-At the grocery store-

Demi: Putting commodities in her basket, trying to think about what to do about Brian. Is in her own world of thoughts, and doesn't sense that there are other people around in the store. Accidentally bumps into someone and loses her basket on the floor.

Joe: Kneeling down starting to pick up all her groceries "I am so sorry".

Demi: laughs lightly "It's okay, it was my fault too". Bends down and starts to pick up as well.

Joe: Looks up at her and smiles big "Demi?"

Demi: Looks at him surprised "You know my name?"

Joe: "Yeah, you were in my class when we went to high school, don't you remember?"

Demi: "Oh yeah, your Joe right?"

Joe: nods, smiling "Yes, I think so".

Demi: Laughs a little "Sense of humor, that's good".

Joe: Smiles at her.

Demi: Standing still looking around in the store, trying to figure out something to say.

Joe: "So, how have you been the last six years?"

Demi: Knows she can't tell the truth "I'm living a very good life, I've been married for three years and loving it" trying to not smile too fake.

Joe: Disappointed "That's great".

Demi: "How about you, are you married?"

Joe: Shakes his head "no".

Demi: "Fiancée?"

Joe: Shakes his head, again "no".

Demi: "Girlfriend then?"

Joe: Shakes his head, again "Nope, I'm alone".

Demi: Looks down and nods "Oh, sorry".

Joe: "Don't think about it, I'm great just the way my life is now".

Demi: "Mhm, that's great" smiles at him. Looks down at her watch and sees she's been at the store too long "I got to go" she turns around, about to leave.

Joe: Hesitates but whispers loud enough for her to hear him "Demi, wait".

Demi: Turns around, again "yes?"

Joe: "Can I see you again?"
