My father tells me of the days in the Soviet Union when he lived in Moscow. Everyone was treated equally, there was no division such as the upper/lower class, he was given a free car and helped with by the government when he bought a house and told me how the education system was one of the best in the world where he studied engineering in Moscow University. He seems sad now and I don't blame him. Once told me he would give up everything to relive one day in Soviet Moscow.

@jumshid What you should note is that things weren't that good elsewhere. Most of the money went to Moscow and St-Petersburg and especially the border areas were in really bad shape.

But even so you are totally right about the equal treatment. I live in Finland and as our system was pretty socialist in the 70s and earlier people treated each others real well and tried to benefit the society, not themselves. But when we became more capitalist on 80s people became so selfish...
