Arduino Nano controlled 2 axis solar tracker / light seeker and battery charger. Hobby scale for the moment. The tracking fidelity is excellent, but there is still a mechanical resonance problem.

  • This is more of a proof of concept for a sailboat mounted tracker. Obviously energy consumption is a big issue. Some things I'm planning: switching off supply power to servos when they're not in use, less aggressive tracking, lower supply voltage, etc...

  • I've been building a solar tracker with a parabolic mirror to concentrate direct sunlight instead of turn it into electricity. Have a look and tell me what you think /watch?v=BAWLjqMiulo

  • Brilliant, very reactive and accurate.

  • great!!

I do sort of that in school like that.

but i do use two wooden boards and ontop, the solar plates

  • Awesome. Nice work!

  • @aktechfreak theres already devices like that available from Adafruit.

  • do you have code for it? What kind of sensors are you using? Im also attempting the same thing as a hobby project. It would be nice to take a look how you've done it. Very nice work, btw!
