  • @Teddyb1939 I have a suggestion; If you can record those 78's onto CD's, then bundle them up with the recoding you already have... You then have a product you can sell on the internet. Of course marketing is a big part of that, but YouTube is the best way to get your message out there. There's what you need:

    1. New YouTube account with name like 'Swinging 50's' Remember internet is KEYWORD driven.

    2. Create a 'wordpress blog' with PayPal button promoting your CD's, then promote your CD's

  • @phoenix11994466 You are right & I am putting into words but on paper. I have such memories of the 50s that people have always been saying, as you have". you must let people know of the times." I have three C,Ds recorded of myself & my wife talking of growing up in the early days of the 40s & particularly the 50s, We started courting in the late 50s. I also have books & supplements that show my street, myself & my mates. I still have loade of 78 rpm vinyl records.Anyway great times.

  • @Teddyb1939 Lots of people would love to hear about those days, so why don't you get a web-cam for your computer and tell people all about London in the 50's, and upload it to YouTube? People love a good story, especially from someone who witnessed that era by living it. Good luck.

  • The fellow with the cap[ ,sounds as though he may be from Yorkshire ] If anyone walked about as he described they would have been laughed at, The dress may have been like that in his manor but certainly not in West London. The entertainment in the pubs & clubs was not the piano, it was the juke box, again it may have been as he says in his area but not mine. The Ted look was so widespread, no heads turned & no music stopped playing. The comments made make the suit sound more like fancy dress..

  • @phoenix11994466 You are right of course, sorry for my reaction. best wishes Teddyb

  • @phoenix11994466 Don't be so sensitive, I can only talk about my own experience and point of view

  • @phoenix11994466 You are quite rude & aggressive in your comments perhaps you were not very successful during the time you spent in London & it has left you with a chip on your .shoulder, If you are not as old as me you probably wouldn't remember much of the 50s anyway, thanks for your comments but if you are going to be rude please don't bother.

  • @Teddyb1939 You assume too much I'm none of those, and I'm probably not as old as you Granddad. But the 50's must have been great days alright. Britain just won the war, plenty of employment rebuilding all the damage... But London was never the center of fashion until the Beatles and British Rock in the 60'... Which lasted for a brief 5 -6 years. After that, it was was back to mediocre and bland. Immigration and the Royal Family, was the only thing that saved Britain from becoming redundant.

  • @phoenix11994466 Were you one of the smart & beautiful that EMMIGRATED, if not you must have been one of the downtown YOBBOS, you seem to favour the black community, are you black by any chance? I was around in the 50s & I remember it as a great time to be young, I think you must have mixed woth the wrong crowd.
