A weak leader cannot reawaken the masses. This observation was made by Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara at a meeting at the Ratnapura Town Hall.
The Speaker said the people remained on the direction of the ruler of the country. If the ruler is asleep, the citizens will also be in that position. The Head of State should possess noble qualities and be dedicated towards the development of the country. It is very rarely that such leaders take over the reigns.

The event was organised to welcome the new Governor of Sabaragamuwa Jaanaka Priyantha Bandara. It was organised by the Ratnapura District Sasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya. The new Governor vowed to do his utmost when serving the people. Monk Parliamentarian the Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka thera, the Ven. Dr. Omalpe Sobitha thera, Minister Pavithra Vanniarachchi and Presidential Advisor Vasudeva Nanayakkara were present.
