Drop Test #1 - Canon EF II 50mm f1.8

We decided to drop this lens on a concrete floor to see how bad it would break. We knew it would break, but we never thought we would get a cool soft focus lens with in camera iris control to boot.

Yeah... Any lens dropped from just 5 feet will break. It may not be in two pieces but either the elements will misallign or auto focus will miss. Duh.

My friend got this one because it was cheap, and after just a few days got it broken. It didn't really fell that bad and it broke as well. And guess what? He ordered another one!

I broke mine the same way, it pops back together with a bit of patience, works fine. the image quality is what you are paying for, not the build, it's sharper and brighter than lenses 18 times the price. check my Flickr, I shoot with it the most. flickr. com / photos /israel 09/ (close the gaps)
